Austin Moore, the sole full-time science teacher in Wayne school district, knows firsthand the challenges faced by rural teachers. Feeling isolated professionally, Austin sought out programs like 3D-RST and Technology Mediated Lesson Study (TMLS) to connect with fellow educators and enhance his teaching methods.

As a teacher participant in the 3D-RST program from 2022 to 2023, Austin cherished the collaborative atmosphere and student-centered lessons that emerged from the experience. Now, as he pursues a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a science focus at Utah State University, Austin remains committed to improving rural education.
Austin's research interests center on professional development for rural educators. He advocates for equitable access to professional growth opportunities, aiming to ensure that all rural teachers have the support and resources they need to thrive.
We welcome Austin as he continues his journey with the 3D-RST team and contributes to essential research in the field of rural education.
