Dr. Syahrul Amin is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Science Education at Texas A&M University. His work on the 3DRST project focuses on examining rural science teachers’ professional networks using advanced social network analysis methods to better understand patterns of collaboration, support, and professional learning. He holds a PhD in Science Education, and his research centers on science teacher education, teacher knowledge and expertise, and STEM identity and persistence. His scholarship specifically examines how teacher educators prepare preservice science teachers and how pedagogical practices shape inservice teachers’ professional growth over time. He is particularly interested in how teachers’ professional knowledge and expertise develop across career stages. In addition, he investigates factors influencing student persistence in postsecondary STEM programs. His broader research agenda reflects an interdisciplinary approach to STEM education, with an emphasis on fostering inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environments for both teachers and students.
