New Study Published: Highlights a Decade of 3-Dimensional Science Education Implementation

"Ten Years of Three-Dimensional Science and Its Implementation in the Secondary Classroom: A Scoping Review"

We are excited to announce the publication of our latest research article, "Ten Years of Three-Dimensional Science and Its Implementation in the Secondary Classroom: A Scoping Review," available online in the Journal of Science Teacher Education.

This study explores a decade of research following the introduction of the Next-Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in the U.S. While not all states have adopted NGSS, nearly every state has embraced science standards grounded in the same philosophy and research base, emphasizing three-dimensional (3D) science teaching.

Our scoping review provides an in-depth look at the classroom implementation of 3D Science in secondary schools, identifying key issues such as professional learning, teacher knowledge and beliefs, assessment, and administrative support. The study also highlights important future research directions, focusing on the systemic impacts of professional development and the challenges teachers face in adopting the new standards.

Congratulations to Clara Smith and the 3D-RST team.
