3D-RST Team to Present at the ASTE 2025 Conference

"Three-Dimensional Science Teaching for Rural Spaces: Capturing Evidence of Teacher Change in Knowledge and Practice."

The 3D-RST team is looking forward to presenting at the upcoming Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE) Conference, taking place January 15–18, 2024, in Long Beach, California.

Our presentation will introduce attendees to the Technology-Mediated Lesson Study process, a dynamic approach to professional learning for teachers.

The session includes:

  • Teacher Reflections: Analysis of focus group data to explore self-reported reflections on lesson implementation.
  • Observation Instrument: Introduction to a three-dimensional classroom enactment observation tool, offering an external perspective on teaching practices.
  • Mechanisms of Change: Insights into factors driving growth in teacher knowledge and instructional strategies, based on research data.

Presenters will also discuss how teacher self-reflection, coupled with the observational instrument, has been leveraged to uncover mechanisms influencing positive changes in practice and understanding.

Join us to engage with this innovative research and explore its implications for improving science education, particularly in rural settings. We look forward to connecting with colleagues and advancing conversations about impactful teaching practices!
