"Recognizing the Impact to TMLS Lesson Study"
We are thrilled the 3D-RST team will lead two insightful roundtable discussions, both focusing on advancing professional development for rural science educators through technology.
We will be presenting at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Conference, taking place April 23–27, 2024, in Denver, Colorado
1. Technology-Mediated Lesson Study: Improving Rural Science Education
In collaboration with Heather Leary
This session explores the use of Technology-Mediated Lesson Study (TMLS) to support rural science educators in designing and implementing lessons aligned with three-dimensional teaching standards. TMLS offers a valuable professional development model, enabling teachers to collaborate, observe each other's teaching via technology, and co-create impactful lessons.
2. Expanding Professional Networks Through TMLS
In collaboration with Rebecca Sansom and Tracy Poulsen
This session highlights the research titled “This is My Department: The Impact of Technology-Mediated Lesson Study on the Professional Networks of Rural Science Teachers.” This study showcases how TMLS fosters robust professional networks for rural educators, demonstrating the potential for deep collaboration across distances using technology.
Mark your calendars for these impactful discussions in Denver!
